Dune View is a self-catering, upstairs cottage situated in Sodwana Bay. Sodwana is a scuba-diving, fishing, and nature-lover’s paradise.

 

Perched up on a hill in rural Zululand, the cottage offers lovely dune & lake views and is approximately 1.5km from the main tar road. The access road is a single sandy track and although 4x4 is not needed, vehicles with low clearance are not recommended.

There is another house on the property, but guests have their own electric gate and a private entrance. The whole property is secured with an electric fence and although it is not far from town, the cottage is very rural and situated among the local homesteads & natural bush. 

​

The bright, open-plan space has  king-size bed (or twins on requests). 2 small children (under 10) can be accommodated on kids mattresses if needed. The bathroom has a shower & bath towels are provided. The lounge has a smart TV with Netflix provided no DSTV.

 

The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, a microwave, 2-plate gas hob, kettle and a toaster (no oven). There is a large semi-covered deck off the cottage with a gas braai. The cottage is equipped with ceiling fan and air-conditioning, ideal for those hot summer days.

You can enjoy the local sights and sounds while sipping a sundowner on the deck; the distant lighthouse turning on Jesser Point, Nguni cattle being herded past, chickens roosting for the night and a local soccer game on the nearby field. 

 

We experience load shedding and being rural we also experience power cuts, this is unfortunately out of our control. In this case there will be no power and very little water pressure. in the event of extended power cuts, we can run a backup generator for an hour for you to shower and charge up electronics if needed.

The cottage is self catering and is serviced once a week (towels and linen changed) Additional service is available at R100/day.
